Are 'adult-affiliate' programs more profitable?

So here are the facts whether we like them or not.
30% of all traffic is a really huge figure. That's almost like a third of all traffic! According to some studies, most people are willing to pay for adult-related content than anything else. It could be a movie, a collection of pictures, or membership to some site which connects people who are interested in that kind of stuff.

Would this mean that adult-affiliate programs could make someone more money than any other affiliate program?

I'm just asking that question out of curiosity.

I don't think so. It would only be profitable to promote through sites where adult content would not cause offence, and where adult links are permitted.

My laptop has a filter that does not allow my server to access any site containing material that is considered unsuitable for anyone under the age of 18. This is now becoming the default setting on most new computers, laptops and other Internet devices

That sounds like good news to me. The fact that kids as young as 6 were being exposed to porn kind of made me sick. So if filters is the way to protect them then I'm happy that someone decided to do something about what had become the norm on the internet.

To be honest I as listening to an interview that was done by a super affiliate by the name of Charles NGO and he was actually saying that he would recommend anyone that is just getting into affiliate marketing right now to take advantage of the adult niche. I have been doing some research myself and I have come to realize that the adult niche right now has lots and lots of money to be made in it. The only thing is I am not comfortable with being in that niche and that is why I haven't really exploited it for what it's worth.

If you take some time to get to know the niche though I honestly cannot see how you wouldn't be able to turn a good profit.

Sex sells mate. That's probably the only thing that won't go out of date. I've heard a lot of people cashing out huge amounts of money on adult related affiliate sites. But the problem there is you have to be specific on when it comes to your promotions, you can't just post your ads or links anywhere.

I don't think it follows that if a certain niche, like pornography, has a lot of traffic then products/affiliate programs related to it are the most profitable.

Statistics show that the top 3 selling internet items are not even porn-related.

    1. Software, Books, Music, Flowers
    2. Computer Hardware, Consumer Electronics, Office Supplies
    3. Apparel, Footwear, Jewelry, Linens / Home Decor

I've dabbled in it in the past and made a few thousand back in the day. I probably could have made more had I gone after it more aggressively though. This was back in the late 90's - early 2000's when there were "Adult Verification Systems" that you could buy a pass, and use it on their network of sites that were protected with it (Adult Check).

I set up a few niche sites, and I was getting a few hundred in commissions each month. It wasn't enough to live off of, but it was some fun "partying" money from time to time. The funny thing was I continued to get these checks for years after I had abandoned the sites (the sites were hosted on a free web host). Every so often, I would get a check for like $40 or $80 out of the blue. The company finally went out of business, which was when the checks stopped coming in.

Well with those numbers I would not be surprised if you make money off of that niche. However, it is free to get porn so I do know if people will actually want to spend money on adult material. I do not even know where you would promote you affiliate link because this is just not a niche I am interested in. Good luck to you.

I don't see people paying for it. If you find a way to earn money from traffic, then sure, you can make quite a bit of money because an adult site is sure to get traffic. Otherwise, I can't see it.

I've also thought about going into this niche lately...

There's no arguing it's profitability. But there's also something to be said about the competition you'll find there, right?

As far as how comfortable I would feel about promoting this niche, I wouldn't like to promote porn...
But I mean, some dick pills, blow-up dolls, and shit like that? Who really cares right?
I do not believe the ends justify the means, but at the end of the day you have to follow the money... It's a business, case closed.

Everybody says that sex sells. I had thought about getting into selling adult products but never got around to it. So I can't honestly say weather or not you would have any luck. not to say that you can't if you use the right marketing methods and have targeted traffic.
